¹The earth is Jehovah's, and the fullness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein. ²For he hath founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the floods. ³Who shall ascend into the hill of Jehovah? And who shall stand in his holy place? ⁴He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; Who hath not lifted up his soul unto falsehood, And hath not sworn deceitfully. ⁵He shall receive a blessing from Jehovah, And righteousness from the God of his salvation.

     ⁶This is the generation of them that seek after him, That seek thy face, `even' Jacob. Selah ⁷Lift up your heads, O ye gates; And be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors: And the King of glory will come in. ⁸Who is the King of glory? ¹In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. ²And the earth was waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. ³And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. ⁴And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. ⁵And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

  ¹Praise ye Jehovah. Praise Jehovah, O my soul. ²While I live will I praise Jehovah: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. ³Put not your trust in princes, Nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. ⁴His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; In that very day his thoughts perish. ⁵Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in Jehovah his God: ⁶Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that in them is; Who keepeth truth for ever; ⁷Who executeth justice for the oppressed; Who giveth food to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners; ⁸Jehovah openeth `the eyes of' the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous; ⁹Jehovah preserveth the sojourners; He upholdeth the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.

     ¹⁰Jehovah will reign for ever, Thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye Jehovah

⁶And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. ⁷And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. ⁸And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

 ¹Oh come, let us sing unto Jehovah; Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. ²Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; Let us make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. ³For Jehovah is a great God, And a great King above all gods. ⁴In his hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the mountains are his also. ⁵The sea is his, and he made it; And his hands formed the dry land.

     ⁶Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before Jehovah our Maker: ⁷For he is our God, And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To-day, oh that ye would hear his voice! ⁸Harden not your heart, as at Meribah, As in the day of Massah in the wilderness; ⁹When your fathers tempted me, Proved me, and saw my work. ¹⁰Forty years long was I grieved with `that' generation, And said, It is a people that do err in their heart, And they have not known my ways: ¹¹Wherefore I sware in my wrath, That they should not enter into my rest.

⁹And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. ¹⁰And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

     ¹¹And God said, Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, `and' fruit-trees bearing fruit after their kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth: and it was so. ¹²And the earth brought forth grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after their kind: and God saw that it was good. ¹³And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

   ¹Praise ye Jehovah. Praise ye Jehovah from the heavens: Praise him in the heights. ²Praise ye him, all his angels: Praise ye him, all his host. ³Praise ye him, sun and moon: Praise him, all ye stars of light. ⁴Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, And ye waters that are above the heavens. ⁵Let them praise the name of Jehovah; For he commanded, and they were created.

     ⁶He hath also established them for ever and ever: He hath made a decree which shall not pass away. ⁷Praise Jehovah from the earth, Ye sea-monsters, and all deeps. ⁸Fire and hail, snow and vapor; Stormy wind, fulfilling his word; ⁹Mountains and all hills; Fruitful trees and all cedars; ¹⁰Beasts and all cattle; Creeping things and flying birds; ¹¹Kings of the earth and all peoples; Princes and all judges of the earth; ¹²Both young men and virgins; Old men and children: ¹³Let them praise the name of Jehovah; For his name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and the heavens.

     ¹⁴And he hath lifted up the horn of his people, The praise of all his saints; Even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye Jehovah.

¹⁴And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years: ¹⁵and let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

     ¹⁶And God made the two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: `he made' the stars also. ¹⁷And God set them in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth, ¹⁸and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. ¹⁹And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

 ¹O Jehovah, our Lord, How excellent is thy name in all the earth, Who hast set thy glory upon the heavens! ²Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established strength, Because of thine adversaries, That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. ³When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; ⁴What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? ⁵For thou hast made him but little lower than God, And crownest him with glory and honor.

     ⁶Thou makest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet: ⁷All sheep and oxen, Yea, and the beasts of the field, ⁸The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, Whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. ⁹O Jehovah, our Lord, How excellent is thy name in all the earth!

²⁰And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

     ²¹And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that moveth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind: and God saw that it was good. ²²And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth. ²³And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

 ¹O Jehovah, thou hast searched me, and known `me'. ²Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising; Thou understandest my thought afar off. ³Thou searchest out my path and my lying down, And art acquainted with all my ways. ⁴For there is not a word in my tongue, But, lo, O Jehovah, thou knowest it altogether. ⁵Thou hast beset me behind and before, And laid thy hand upon me.

     ⁶`Such' knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain unto it.⁷Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? ⁸If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, thou art there. ⁹If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; ¹⁰Even there shall thy hand lead me, And thy right hand shall hold me.

     ¹¹If I say, Surely the darkness shall overwhelm me, And the light about me shall be night; ¹²Even the darkness hideth not from thee, But the night shineth as the day: The darkness and the light are both alike `to thee'. <sup>13</sup>For thou didst form my inward parts: Thou didst cover me in my mother's womb. <sup>14</sup>I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well. <sup>15</sup>My frame was not hidden from thee, When I was made in secret, `And' curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

     ¹⁶Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance; And in thy book they were all written, `Even' the days that were ordained `for me', When as yet there was none of them. ¹⁷How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! ¹⁸If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: When I awake, I am still with thee. ¹⁹Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: Depart from me therefore, ye bloodthirsty men. ²⁰For they speak against thee wickedly, And thine enemies take `thy name' in vain.

     ²¹Do not I hate them, O Jehovah, that hate thee? And am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? ²²I hate them with perfect hatred: They are become mine enemies. ²³Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts; ²⁴And see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. ²⁴And God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind: and it was so. ²⁵And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the ground after its kind: and God saw that it was good.

     ²⁶And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. ²⁷And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. ²⁸And God blessed them: and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. ²⁹And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food: ³⁰and to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, `I have given' every green herb for food: and it was so.

     ³¹And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

   ¹It is a good thing to give thanks unto Jehovah, And to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High; ²To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, And thy faithfulness every night, ³With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery; With a solemn sound upon the harp. ⁴For thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. ⁵How great are thy works, O Jehovah! Thy thoughts are very deep.

     ⁶A brutish man knoweth not; Neither doth a fool understand this: ⁷When the wicked spring as the grass, And when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; It is that they shall be destroyed for ever. ⁸But thou, O Jehovah, art on high for evermore. ⁹For, lo, thine enemies, O Jehovah, For, lo, thine enemies shall perish; All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. ¹⁰But my horn hast thou exalted like `the horn of' the wild-ox: I am anointed with fresh oil.

     ¹¹Mine eye also hath seen `my desire' on mine enemies, Mine ears have heard `my desire' of the evil-doers that rise up against me. ¹²The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree: He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. ¹³They are planted in the house of Jehovah; They shall flourish in the courts of our God. ¹⁴They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and green: ¹⁵To show that Jehovah is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

 ¹And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. ²And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. ³And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.
